Penrith invited to come together for Remembrance

Penrith Remembrance Parade

Penrith Town Council is inviting residents to join the town’s Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day commemorations this November, bringing the community together to honour those who have served and remember those who have lost their lives in conflict.

On Sunday 8 November 2026, the Remembrance Sunday Parade will leave Portland Place at 2pm, proceeding along Middlegate to St Andrew’s Church, accompanied by Penrith Town Band. Members of the public are warmly invited to attend to watch the parade and the Service of Remembrance at the church.

The parade will bring together representatives of the Armed Forces, veterans’ organisations, cadet forces, Town Councillors and local community groups in a shared act of remembrance.

On Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November 2026, residents are invited to gather at St Andrew’s Church from 10.50am for a short act of remembrance organised by the Church. The event will include the national two minutes’ silence at 11am and the dedication of the Garden of Remembrance, with a bugler in attendance. All are welcome to join this opportunity for quiet reflection.

Members of the public are welcome to attend both commemorations.
