Penrith Community Awards
Penrith Community Awards
Penrith Town Council is pleased to launch the Penrith Community Awards, an annual programme organised by the Council’s Communities Committee to recognise the individuals and groups who contribute to the wellbeing, vitality, and community spirit of our town.
While the Council has operated an awards scheme in previous years focussing mainly on Mayor’s Medals, this refreshed and expanded programme places a renewed emphasis on celebrating outstanding citizenship, voluntary service, and the positive impact people make across Penrith. There is no fee to nominate, and anyone may put forward a nomination.
Winners will be selected at a formal meeting of the Communities Committee and celebrated in February 2026.
About the Awards

-

How Nominations Are Judged
Nominations are considered by the Communities Committee using a structured scorecard. Each nomination is assessed on:
- Measurable Impact – Evidence such as community growth, funds raised, or increased participation
- Community Engagement – Examples of involvement, endorsements, or public support
- Relevance & Alignment – How closely the nominee’s work supports Penrith’s needs
- Passion & Dedication – Commitment, positivity, and genuine community spirit
Committee members must agree unanimously on each rating. In cases of disagreement or a tie, the Chair of Communities Committee will make the final decision. The Committee’s decisions are final.
